The #3 seed Lady Crusaders managed to pull out a major upset on Thursday, November 30th as they defeated the number one seeded Zion Lutheran in the District 14-1A girls volleyball district championship tournament. The girls jumped all over the Lady Lions early winning the first two games 25-23 and 25-22. They dropped the third game 12-25 before closing the match and capturing the championship in the 4th game 25-23. Fort Lauderdale Christian school has not beaten Zion Lutheran in volleyball in four years. They lost in three straight games in both regular season meetings this year, but the ladies picked the right time to reach their stride. The girls defeated Upperroom Christian Academy on Monday in what proved to be a bit of a sloppy match. They picked up the play the following day, knocking off the #2 seed Sheridan Hills Sharks in three straight games. That win earned them a bearth to the championship game.
The Crusaders will face Boca Raton Christian on Tuesday, November 4 at 7:00 PM. Admission is $6.
