The Chick-Fil-A Christmas Tournament made its debut last year at the Huizenga Gymnasium and it went down as a huge success. The tournament is a collaborations between Fort Lauderdale Christian School, Calvary Christian Academy, and Chick-Fil-A of Coral Springs. Owner and General Manager Sam Poeana underwrote the entire tournament. The funds provided a T-shirt for each participant, trophies, officials, programs, gifts for the coaches, and a hospitality room. Athletic Directors Mark Butler (CCA) and Keith Huisman (FLCS) are looking to grow this event to become a premier tournament in Broward County over the years. Last year, University School captured the girls division while Calvary Christian won the boys side.
This year, the tournament will be held on December 18 and 19 in the newly renovated Huizenga Gymnasium on the Campus of FLCS. The host schools are welcoming new participants Seacrest Country Day School of Naples, and Sheridan Hills Christian from Hollywood. Click on the excel document below for a copy of the brackets.
